Appointment Policy

Thank you for considering Jamilah Beauty Studio for your next hair appointment, my team and I are honored that you are considering us to service you. Please read our policies carefully before booking a service, to avoid any confusion.

SERVICES NOT LISTED

If there is a service you want to book and it’s not currently listed on our booking page please feel free to contact us at 646-963-3159.

Our current booking platform does not allow for time restrictions. When booking appointments please select one of the following time slots 9:30am, 10am, 2:30pm, 3pm, 3:30pm or 4pm. If you select a time slot outside of this you might be contacted by a team member to push your appointment time

Deposit

  • A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to book an appointment . All deposits will count towards your service. For example, if your service is $100 and you’ve left the deposit, your remaining balance will be 80$.
  • However, if you cancel there will be no refund of your deposit. Deposits can only be applied towards a future appointment if you cancel your original appointment at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Appointments can only be rescheduled once using the same deposit, within 30 days of your original appointment date. 

Rescheduling & Cancellation 

  • If for any reason you would like to reschedule please do so by going back to your confirmation email at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. You can also reschedule by contacting us via call and/or text at 646-963-3159.
  • If your appointment is in less than 48 hours please text/call 646-963-3159 to cancel. NOTE: Your deposit will not be refunded nor will your appointment be rescheduled but you will not be charged an inconvenience fee.
  • Your appointment will be confirmed 48 hours in advance via text message and email. Please respond to our confirmation text and/or email. If we do not receive a confirmation at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, your appointment will be canceled and deposit forfeited. 
  • If you did not contact us regarding canceling your appointment and do not show it will be considered a no call/no show. No call no show appointments will be charged $50 inconvenience fee.

Timeframe & Lateness

  • Please understand that some styles can  take longer than estimated , due to length and thickness of hair. Please book accordingly, hair styling isn't a process that can be rushed. To maintain the integrity/quality of service, if you have prior engagements scheduled, please do not book the same day, as we take our time to provide you with quality work.
  • In order to respect the time of both our clients and our staff, we ask you to arrive on time for your appointment. If you are running behind schedule, please let us know at least 15 minutes BEFORE your scheduled arrival time so that we can inform your service provider to see if we’re able to accommodate. After 30 minutes without receiving a text/call, your appointment will be canceled.We will always do our best to accommodate you when it is possible. No call no show appointments will be charged a $50 inconvenience fee.
  • Please keep in mind we take our time with each client, and each client requires a different service time. Your appointment time is secured but I cannot guarantee you will be started at the exact time of your appointment. Please book accordingly and book ample time for your appointment.

Hair Prep Prior to Appointment 

  • Your hair has to be at least 4 inches all around for all hairstyles. If your hair is not at least 4 inches all around please send a picture prior to booking and we will evaluate if we are able to achieve your chosen style, please note, a short hair fee may apply.
  • Your hair MUST be freshly washed, free of products including oils, grease, leave-in-conditioner, etc. (Feel free to bring your favorite oil if you’d like us to oil your scalp after braiding)
  • Hair must be detangled, stretched and blow dried from root to tip, otherwise you will be charged an additional fee on the day of your appointment.
  • We offer wash and blow drying services at an additional cost, please add it on during the booking process. Same day add-on is not available because it will result in schedule delays. 

 

FOR ALL BRAID APPOINTMENTS

As of August 11,2024, our braid sizing and pricing has changed. Please be mindful of these changes when booking. if you're hesitant on what size to book please feel free to send us a reference picture and we can assist you choose accordingly. 

Hair 

  • Hair is included in the pricing for all braids, soft locs and butterfly locs styles. For the bohemian add-on a deep bulk human hair blend is included in pricing. For goddess ends and other hair styles hair is not included. If you're in doubt please read the service description. 
    • Braiding hair color options: 
      • 1, 1B, 2, 4, 27, 30, 33, BG, 350, 613, 1B/30, 1B/27, 1B/BG, 1B/613, 27/613
      • Soft locs and Butterfly locs are only provided in color 1B
    • Bohemian color options:
      •  1,1B,2,4,27,30 

Please choose your hair color accordingly, if you need assistance with hair color please feel free to contact us. Hair color cannot be changed of the day of your appointment 

 

Length 

  • Default length for each braided style is stated in the description. For additional length please choose add-on.
  • Please keep in mind that ombre and color mixes cannot be done at the mid back length
  • Your natural hair has to be shorter than the length you select for your appointment. For example, if your natural hair is at or longer than your bra strap you cannot select midback length. When in doubt, please send us a picture of your hair prior to booking. 

Additional Information

  • You cannot change the service booked on the same day so please book accordingly.

Dissatisfaction\discrepancies - If ever you’re not fully loving your hair, don’t hesitate and don’t second guess- reach out to us directly. We kindly ask that you please reach out to us within 2 days of your original service so that we can do everything we can to have you feeling and looking like your very best self.
